Weight Loss Food

Thought it would be fun to share what I have been eating to loose weight.

I made kabobs for a family gathering
This plate was from a different day. Chicken kabobs and steamed vegetables
And my favorite low point dressing to dip my vegetables and kabobs in.

Lovin my new red door

I had all kinds of plans for remodeling our home for the summer, but hubs is away until September. So I booked the guys to come put new windows in and now I wait. So I'm tired of waiting for the windows, so I decided to spruce up the outside with a small can of red tremclad paint.

I painted the door, milk can and the teapot that I got from Costco. I wish I had a before picture! Trust me this is a huge improvement. Was sick of cleaning the white boreing door and there was just nothing special about the outside at all. By the way I am scared of the whipper snipper so the edges of my property are a mess. I will have to use the scissors lol

At Pre-Pregnancy Weight

Finally! It took 3.5 months but I managed to loose 50 lbs!!! yes that seems like a lot in a short time but the first 30 was water weight. Yes, I was one of the lucky ladies to retain as much water weight as possible during pregnancy. I am far from being done as I still have 30 plus pounds to go but making it to pre-pregnancy weight is a huge accomplishment for me and is one of my mini goals.
So how did I do it? well, 3 different ways. First let me tell you that I did a ton of research while pregnant on what diet I wanted to try. I decided on Weight Watcher's because it's not a DIET, it's a life style change and you can eat what you want as long as you have the points to "Spend". Anyway, I won't bore you with details that you probably already know ;) So the second thing was I breastfed/feed. You burn a few hundred calories a day breastfeeding. So it's good for mama and baby! Third, I started walking the dog to his Saturday camp instead of driving. It's just short of 7K round trip pushing a double stroller up killer hills. I also did a 5K with The Running Room
And just to add that with any life style change it takes patience, research and self discipline. Motivation helps too:)
So I decided to try and have some fun with recipes and made all kinds of stuff that I wouldn't normally make. This is to starve off boredom with eating the same old things again and again.

This is pancakes made with a ww smoothie packet and 1/3 cup egg whites or egg beaters. Mix and cook like a pancake. Top with berries and whip cream. YUMThis was mid cooking so it wasn't quite finished. I love stir Fry's so I try and use as many different flavourings with spices as I can.

I also eat a lot of Kabobs, fruit, salads, nuts, yogurt, tuna, fiber one bars, bran muffins, and whatever else I want to eat. I do limit bread tho as it sits hard in my stomach and causes me to bloat!

So that's it in a nut shell:) I will post more updates as they happen. Thanks for reading and I love reading your comments:)

Pirate Shipwreck

So thanks to Disney's Jake and the Never Land Pirates we have a wee obsession with Pirates around here. I found it really hard to find pirate stuff at the dollar store which is strange because everywhere you look in N.S. every summer is pirates this and that. So I made my own peg pirates (girl and boy) and searched Etsy and bought a wood pirate from Armadillo dreams.
Now whats in the bin?
Rice as filler to look like white sand, wood gold coins, parrots, red X marks the spot, blue anchor, foam sponge shapes, palm trees, treasure chest, homemade Jolly Rodger flag and a fake pearl bracelet. I might add some silver dollars to the bin later

Our favorite book for our pirate theme is How I Became A Pirate by
Melinda Long and David Shannon. This book teaches you how to speak pirate and takes you along on a great sea voyage adventure.
Thanks for looking and please see my sidebar for all the great blogs I link up to. Your comments are always appreciated...Well as long as they are nice ones that is ;)
