My Cowboy turns 1

I can't believe my boy is a year old!
My boy was destined to be a cowboy ever since he was 3 months old. Yes, you read that right. When Gage was 3 months old my dad bought him his first pellet gun (The red rider). Ever since then I have started decorating his room and searching all things Cowboy. This included searching Pinterest and Etsy and I came upon this adorable Wanted poster, I knew Gage's Birthday had to be about cowboys.
I bought the wanted poster and hung it on our front door to greet our cowboys and girls to our party

Then I found THE cake on pinterest (sorry it doesn't link to anywhere but a pic.). My sister graciously made the cake and it was perfect!

 

I bought Daddy a matching shirt from Etsy

This was our welcome table. Bananas, hats and badges. All purchased from various sellers on Ebay

 

 

 

I bought these cones from Etsy. Some guests used them to hold their hot dog while others used them for popcorn.

This was the table before the hot dogs made it in from the BBQ.  I didn't get a closer picture but to the right of the picture was marshmallows on a skewer. The kids 'Roasted" them on Gage's Birthday present. keep reading to see his gifts

And here is the gifts we made our little Cowpoke. I actually bought the tent from Etsy but had to make some revisions once I purchased it. We had to add holes to the front and back and attach a ribbon because the sent kept collapsing. I bought the pattern for the fire from here.  I'm embarrassed to say that we didn't get it completed in time for his party but it was still a hit. We just needed to attach the logs to the bottom of the fire.

And my Cowboy all tuckered out from a busy day of partying.

Camp Fire play

This is actually a prototype for Gage's birthday present but the kids love it the way it is. They have been getting lots of use out of our tree branch blocks too. So much so, that we added to our collection

we just got a image from google images blew it up at staples and traced onto wood. Cut the wood our painted and nailed it together. Probably would have been better to use a super holding glue. Like I said this is a prototype and I will post new pics in a new post once hubby get it finished.

In other news, I am about to head on out to Cuba for some much needed warmth from the glorious sun. Oh how I have missed it

Rainbow Puzzle

Jada and I painted this awesome rainbow puzzle that we bought unfinished from Etsy. We just painted it and sealed it with modpodge. It's a favorite in our classroom and built to last for many years to come.

Pinterest inspiration

I love Pinterest and especially love finding practical solutions to my problems. I cloth diaper baby G, and I hate that the dryer is always going. So when I saw This ..........

 after I followed the link to Centsational girl's blog I knew we had to give it a try. She has all the instructions layed out in easy to follow steps. I enlisted my husband and even tho he dragged his feet for a month to finish it, I am happy with how it turned out. I especially love the color against the grey laundry room wall. I would have taken a full wall picture but our laundry room/ bathroom is under construction and is in a quite a state. Anyway it is hung over our wall heater and I am happy to say this particular cloth diaper and insert were dry when I checked on them a few hours later.

Wowzers been awhile eh? So sorry but I have been crazy busy with work and being a mommy to my little ones. We have been doing lots of fun Christmas stuff but honestly I have been so tired in the evenings I don't feel much like posting every activity. Maybe over Christmas vacation or in the new year. Plus I find Pinterest sucks me in and before I know it A hour has passed and I'm falling asleep ;p Can you believe Jada is 4 and Gage is 9 months!! phew where did that time go? A little update on our cloth diaper situation.... The diapers I got from etsy just didn't make the cut so now we use fuzzi bunz and have never had a problem plus they are nice and thin so no extra bulk:) anyway frinds just popped in to say Hi andto let you know i will be back Merry Christmas Bloggy friends!!!!

Happy September!!! Jada Roo is off to kindergarten today and today is her 4th Birthday

Hands down the best "toy" I have ever bought. I looked everywhere for one of these and found it in the Melissa and Doug section at a toy store while on vacation.

Long Jump Olympic Sensory
